Democratic Visions
Prominent DFLers take measure of Governor and Legislature
Representative Maria Ruud, State Senator Terri Bonoff and Gubernatorial Candidate Mark Dayton take the measure of Republican legislators and Governor Tim Pawlenty on the June edition of Democratic Visions. The three prominent DFLers hold back little from host Tim O’Brien in the wake of what they feel became one of the most frustrating legislative sessions in memory.
Representative Ruud (DFL, HD42A) says that she feels the line-item veto of a medical care bill for the poor snubbed both the soul of Minnesota and people in need and will be very expensive for Minnesotans.
Senator Bonoff (DFL, SD43) scolds both her Republican and DFL Senate colleagues for ignoring successful business strategies in reducing the State’s operating costs
Mark Dayton predicts that the Governor’s use of the State un-allotment statute will be challenged in court and weighs in on health care reform and the flat tax.
Democratic Visions is produced by DFL Senate District 42. The public affairs series airs on Comcast Channel 15 in Hopkins, Minnetonka, Edina, Richfield and Eden Prairie on Wednesdays at 5:30pm and Sundays at 9 pm.
