Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman Guest on Democratic Visions
County Attorney Michael Freeman visits with Larry Piumbroeck on Democratic Visions, a cable production of DFL Senate District 42. In the interview, Freeman talks about the many responsibilities of the 165 lawyers in the County Attorney's office. Besides adult and juvenile prosecutions, the list includes child protection, mental health and child support collections. They discuss what justice actually means in the county attorney's office and how some inequities in the system are gradually being corrected. Freeman explains how stricter enforcement of truancy and curfew laws is reducing juvenile crime. Their discussion also goes into issues of drugs and guns.
