Our Committees
Our senate district has opportunities for people to get involved. If you’d like to get together with other progressive-minded people, help grow the party and have fun, please contact Deb and let her know where you'd like to plug in. Here’s a list and a description on their responsibilities:
- Affirmative Action and Outreach
- Reach deeply into all segments of the senate district to develop roots, communication mechanisms and empower residents with reciprocal communication.
- Candidate Support and Development
- Be involved in candidate recruitment, development and support for external races within the senate district, look at big picture, strategic ways that we can run successful races by offering support for candidates.
- Communications and Technology
- Disseminate the message and activities of the DFL to internal and external audiences in the Senate District through multiple media as appropriate for each given project, help craft consistent messages for use in all other committees and activities of the senate district and assist in attracting new people to participate in building the party and its presence in our senate district.
- Events
- Plan and execute events that raise party visibility in the communities. Where appropriate, work with Fundraising Committee to help raise funds to support our candidates.
- Fundraising
- Plan and execute efforts to raise the maximum funds possible to support our candidates and improve our visibility in our senate district.
- Precinct Organization
- Organize and activate precinct chairs to communicate to neighbors about events and candidates, and recruit and support senate district officers.
- Strategic Planning and Research
- Develop, monitor and periodically revise the strategic plan; advise the Central and Executive Committees on adherence to the plan; and conduct research in support of the various committees as needed.
